Soul very much still intact 

It was recently announced that Wally, the convention-defying Italian yacht maker, has been bought by Ferretti Group, whose portfolio of brands includes Riva and Pershing. And the first fruit of the two’s newfound relationship is an updated version of the Wallytender, which essentially established the now hotly-contested market for larger tenders back in the early noughties. The 48-foot day cruiser retains the original’s striking and signature angular external design while enlarging and improving the spacious interior with increased comfort and functionality. This was predominantly achieved by raising the freeboard – no mean feat when retaining Wally’s puristic hull lines was on top of the agenda. Beneath deck, there’s a cabin, a galley, and a proper stand-up shower, not that the sleek exterior would suggest it. Up top, there’s generous seating and sunbeds, almost all of which can be shielded from the sun if needed by both the permanent and temporary awnings. For days exploring idyllic coves on the Cornish coast or simply bobbing in the sunshine on the Côte d’Azur with your friends and family, we’re not sure we’d look any further than the new 48 Wallytender.
