This Mercedes-Benz art car is a motley masterpiece

During a recent toy drive in South Los Angeles, art collective and non-profit charity Dreamhaus LA presented a kaleidoscopic 1990s Mercedes-Benz art car. And while we know it won’t be to everyone’s tastes, you can’t deny its audacity or the cause for which it was created…

This spectacular 1995 Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG was created by Dreamhaus LA for a recent charity toy drive that neatly doubled up as an art exhibition at the Californian African American Museum in South Los Angeles. It takes the ‘art car’ concept to its boundaries, with a kaleidoscope of exterior colours, Dreamhaus LA’s abstract motifs and slogans pasted all over its bodywork, and wild floral fabric inserts on the black leather seats, again scrawled with messages. Whether you like it or loathe it, it’s Los Angeles’ unique creativity at its most audacious and, of course, was created for a worthy cause.
