Description

The final and most desirable of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud series, the III, appeared in 1962. Designed with a more gently sloping hood, dual headlamps, lower front fenders and radiator shell, the III featured a re-tuned, more powerful V-8 engine. The example on offer was delivered on May 5, 1965, under special order to its first owner in New York City. Its remarkable condition, including its brilliant original Scarlet Connolly hide interior, attests to LSKP21 having been impeccably kept by thoughtful owners. Original special-order features include a rare factory-installed air-conditioning system, power windows and antenna, and special “Sundym” glass. Original tools, maintenance books, leather-bound owner’s manuals, and sales and extensive service records accompany the car.

The upper portion of the Silver Cloud’s coachwork was refinished by a Rolls-Royce specialist in gleaming era-correct dark gray, and wisely, its exquisite original scarlet red leather interior and rich walnut cabinetry were retained, being in beautiful condition throughout. Carefully and assiduously maintained to exacting Rolls-Royce standards, this Silver Cloud offers what every Rolls-Royce enthusiast desires: a spot-on example, benefiting from fastidious care.

The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III series cars, like LSKP21, remain a favorite for their elegant design and luxurious appointments. Whether in motion, or displayed on the concours field, this example offers timeless design, superior quality, and enduring value.
