Description

Guide price: £100000 - £120000.

Guards Red with Tan and one of only 64 UK-supplied (C16) cars produced

A wide-body Turbo ‘look’ car with electrically adjustable sports seats

Recent £4,500 service at Porsche Nottingham

Supplied with a UK V5c, MOT, toolkit, and tyre compressor

The 911 "Speedster" was introduced in 1989 by Porsche to reflect the timeless design of their original 356 Speedster from the late 1950s. Design cues included the instantly recognisable raked aluminium windscreen, 3 inches lower than the standard car, combined with the 'double hump' clamshell fibreglass tonneau cover.

The model was based upon the 3.2 Carrera with its later G50 gearbox, 911 Turbo wide-body and chassis, upgraded Turbo-spec brakes and suspension, combined with the normally aspirated 3.2, flat-6 Carrera engine producing 231bhp. This resulted in an outstanding driving experience which was limited to the 139 right-hand drive, Turbo-bodied Speedsters ever produced.

Offered here is a UK-supplied (C16) right-hand drive Porsche 911 3.2 Speedster Turbo Body first registered on 1st August 1989. Finished in what is probably the most popular colour, Guards Red with a Cashmere Beige upholstery interior piped red. Other options specified included; Sports seats, Blaupunkt radio cassette, and front and rear spoiler delete options.

The last owner named on the V5c acquired the car in June 1998 and, whilst in his care, the car was SORN'd and stored for a considerable amount of time. Although the 17,489 miles on the odometer cannot be warranted, we believe that it is likely to be correct and is commensurate with the condition of the car. Our vendor has had a paint meter on the car and comments that it is almost certainly in its original paint.

Most recently, the car has been fitted with a new clutch and fully serviced at Porsche Nottingham, generating an invoice for £4,629. A bookpack containing the driver’s manual is present, but unfortunately no service book.

Supplied with a UK V5c, an MOT until January 2019, its jack, tools and air-compressor this rare right-hand drive Speedster is in remarkable condition for its age and presents an opportunity for the next owner to go on and enjoy this rare car whilst building a new service history.
