To celebrate the company's centenary they relaunched the car, which would now simply be known as the Ford GT to enormous acclaim in 2005 with input and development coming straight from legendary Texan, Carroll Shelby. The engine is a 5.4litre all aluminium V8 which is dry sumped and develops 550BHP coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a helical limited slip differential. It is ballistically quick covering the 0-60mph dash in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 205mph.</p><p>Built in limited numbers Ford imported just 101 to Europe which were all converted from American to European spec by Roush Engineering and all were pre-sold, changing hands on the second-hand market for significant premiums over their cost new, both at the time and ever since. In 2006, our vendor very much wanted a car but took the initiative to import one from America and send it straight to Roush Engineering for the same conversion to European spec.
