The VIN tag appears undisturbed from factory attachment and corresponds with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming that the car is matching numbers. The previous owner fitted a new fuel tank, radiator and expansion tank, stainless exhaust system, brake servo, front brakes, front shock absorbers and sundry service items.

The Jaguar had been painted an incorrect shade of metallic green sometime in the past, and the current custodians have recently returned NDB 216E to the correct shade of Opalescent Dark Green, including the underside of the bonnet and wheel arches which have been refinished to a high standard. Other work undertaken has included the fitting of a Fosseway starter motor, new bumpers and over riders front and rear, manifolds, plugs, leads and subtly placed electronic ignition, glass rubbers, door rubbers, new spare and tyre. The interior has been re-trimmed in authentic light grain hides including the dashboard top and the carpets and various small Jaguar-specific items were undertaken by GB Classic Trim. Photographs of the progress of the repaint are supplied with the history file. The headlining would appear to be original, as is the vinyl to the inner sills, rear fold-down shelf, and inner wheels arches.

The dashboard now looks really good as all the dials have had the bezels removed and upgraded to chrome, tested and rectified (including the backlighting), correctly resealed to avoid condensation, and then refitted. The clock has not been rebuilt and is not working. The original glove box has been re-flocked and a Moto-Lita steering wheel has fitted to complement the smart dashboard. The radio and aerial are original or a dealer fit and in working order complemented by an invisible speaker upgrade. The bullet mirror is an authentic period cast item that has been rebuilt. It is worth noting that the steering wheel centre and horn push are period-correct as is the grille motif which can be recognised by the much deeper colour of the gold applied to the Jaguar emblem. The rear boot badging also appears to be in its first chrome. The glass is all matching with Triplex etching logo including the headlamp covers. The car is fitted with flat hub chrome wire wheels which were used in this model-year as verified on Motor Wheel Services website and the wheels and tyres appear in great order.

All in all, this is a lovely E-Type. The shut lines are good, the wire wheels look pristine, the interior is fabulous, and the new coat of paint retains a deep shine. It's left-hand drive but so is most of the rest of the world. Sensibly guided, this smart Jaguar is worthy of your consideration.
