Description

"To modernise the Triumph TR5 that had evolved from the Michelotti designed TR4, Triumph looked to produce a new modern body. Triumph commissioned Karmann of Germany but the task was difficult as Karmann had to produce a new body style whilst retaining much of the original structure. The re-style included a new nose, wings and a new tail. The result was the 'Kamm' tailed TR6 and was produced between 1969 and 1976. The home market TR6 initially produced 150bhp but was later detuned to 125bhp. Due to their greater power output, the early models are sought after amongst the Triumph enthusiasts.
This genuine UK right hand drive TR6 was originally registered on 16th April 1969. Subject to a restoration project in1999 including some new panels, this Triumph still presents in good order today, a testament to the quality of the prior restoration. In 2001 and at 96,235 miles, the engine was rebuilt by Cameron Gilmour specialists in Perth. This included a lightened and balanced flywheel, new ring gear and a ported cylinder head. This is a TR6 that has been well looked after and clearly benefits from the significant investment over the years. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 8th October 2018, together with a good history folder, this fuel injected Triumph is a great way to enjoy the summer.
