Description

Guide price: £44000 - £50000.

An elegant 5.5-Litre V12-powered four-seat GT showing only 12,000km

Delivered new in Italy on the 16th April 1994 and remained there until 2017

Partial respray and renewal of the dashboard leather in 2008 by Motor Service' in Modena

Major service and MoT by Furlongers and a further £6,400 was spent in November of last year

Italian registration documents, all books and original tools, service invoices, V5c, and a fresh MoT

Produced from 1992 until 2003, the Ferrari 456 and later 456 M are front-engined 'Grand Tourers' in true Ferrari tradition and were an overdue replacement for the outdated front-engined 412 which had been the company's premium four-seat V12 car for many years. The name '456' refers to the fact that each cylinder displaces 456 cubic centimetres and this was the last Ferrari to use this naming convention. Despite its supercar performance, 436bhp, 0-60mph in 5.2 secs, and a top speed of 188mph, the 456 has a relatively unstressed engine which has proven to be a very reliable unit. The model was warmly received by press and enthusiasts alike, and although not produced in large numbers, was always gently in demand by 'silver-haired' Ferrari owners before the 456M was eventually replaced in 2004 by the 612 Scaglietti.

This rare and desirable, manual transmission, left-hand drive 456 was delivered new in Italy on the 16th April 1994 and remained there until last year when our private vendor registered the car here in the UK. Originally purchased by a company for the use of its director, it transitioned to that director from company ownership in 2008 and remained with him until four years ago. Over the course of its life, this 456 is reported to have been maintained by official Ferrari specialists 'Motor Service' in Modena, who were responsible for a partial respray and renewal of the leather covering on the dashboard in 2008.

Since our vendor acquired the car in June of last year, he has sent it to renowned Ferrari specialists, Furlongers, who carried out a major service and MoT and a further £6,400 was spent in November of last year bringing the car up to a level to meet his exacting standards with invoices on file detailing the work carried out.

Showing only 12,000 km (which cannot be warranted), this lovely Ferrari is accompanied by its Italian registration documents, all books and original tools, copies of the service invoices, the UK Registration documents, and a fresh MoT. These manual-gearbox 456 GT four-seaters are now getting the attention they have so long deserved, with the inevitable upward movement in values so, as they say in Italian, “Batti il Ferro quando è caldo” (Strike whilst the iron is hot).
