Description

"Unveiled at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, the Ian Callum designed Vanquish was an instant sales success and its choice of transport for James Bond only added to the appeal. Every car enthusiast throughout the world wanted the successor to the Virage. The 6.0 litre, V12 produced engine pushed out 450bhp, mated to a 'flappy paddle' electro-hydraulic manual gearbox, fly by wire throttle and, of course, looks to die for! It was no surprise that the car was the top of the Aston Martin range throughout its seven years of production. The Aston Martin legend as the ultimate British sports car was set to continue.
Presented in metallic Tungsten Grey with quilted charcoal leather interior, this example is in lovely condition throughout and was delivered new to the US, where it resided in Santa Ana, California. This example could be considered to be the most popular colour combination, combining aggressive looks and performance with opulent luxury from the drivers or the passenger seat. The history file accompanying the car contains invoices from specialist Baur in Santa Ana and Aston Martin Newport Beach between 2003 and 2010, then the car was moved to New York and serviced comprehensively with Miller Motors in Greenwich until 2013. In 2015/16 the current vendor made the decision to import the car to the UK, upon arrival it was inspected before being sent to Nicholas Mee & Co, Aston Martin Specialists, who serviced and performed any necessary maintenance, since this service this example has covered just over 2,000 miles and has been largely garaged. The V12 engine sounds glorious upon start up and this left hand drive car would be perfect for that drive onto the continent. The Vanquish is tipped as a long term investment by all knowledgeable professionals and this example is no exception so may well be snapped up by a canny collector."
