Point and shoot, James Bond style, with this new Leica

If Q was to design a camera for James Bond, we couldn’t imagine anything more perfect than this new special-edition Leica. Aptly named the ‘Stealth Edition’, the new Leica M Monochrom is the ideal spy accessory — albeit, the glow-in-the-dark details may blow your cover…

Covert camera

While Q may not have designed it, fashion and photography genius Marcus Wainwright — founder, CEO, and creative director of fashion label rag & bone — sure knew how to channel the Quartermaster when he collaborated with Leica for this special-edition camera. The Leica M Monochrom ‘Stealth Edition’ is finished in scratch-resistant matte black with glow-in-the-dark details and black leather trim, has an ultra-quiet shutter release, and comes with a 35mm lens finished in the same matte black as the camera. As the Monochrom nomenclature indicates, the camera features no colour filter array to create some of the sharpest and dynamic black-and-white photos — the M model is the only digital camera to shoot in just black and white. Just 125 examples will be produced, with all set to go on sale on 20 March, at a price of just over 12,000 euros.
