This book takes you from classic concepts to the future of cars

The new book, ‘Fast Forward: The Cars of the Future, The Future of Cars’, published by Gestalten and co-edited by Classic Driver, tells the story of automotive history’s most audacious concept cars and their impact on the future of personal transportation as we know it…

Fast Forward

From the Buckminster Fuller Dymaxion and Marcello Gandini’s wedge-shaped Lancia Sibilo to Vauxhall’s wild SRV and the Low Res Car by United Nude, Fast Forward chronicles the most intriguing, outlandish, and innovative concept cars from the 1930s to the present day. Free of the constraints of legislation, ambitious designers were able to realise their dreams of the future and, in turn, make an indelible footprint on how we perceive the car to this day. In addition to photographs shot from within the walls of the most illustrious manufacturers and design studios, there are interviews with the likes of BMW’s Adrian van Hooydonk and Ferrari’s Flavio Manzoni, offering insights into what the next chapter of automotive history might look like. The 304-page hardcover book is now on sale, priced at 49.90 euros. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did making it…
