Which is your favourite of Gordon Murray’s enduring creations?

Fashion sense may have changed dramatically since this, shall we say, ‘of-the-era’ press photo of Gordon Murray with arguably his most famous creation, the McLaren F1, but the great designer’s profound knowledge, skill, and desire to innovate in the automotive world remains the same as ever…

From the very beginning...

A dedicated exhibition at Murray’s design company’s new HQ in Surrey will reflect on his incredible 50-year career, gathering over 40 pivotal cars that he designed or influenced — from the great designer’s first ever sports car, the 1967 IGM Ford Special, to Formula 1 title-winning Brabhams, and, of course, the legendary McLaren F1. We’re also promised that there will be a ‘ground-breaking’ vehicle revealed to coincide with the exhibition’s opening in November. With TVR’s hotly anticipated new (Murray-designed) sports car due to be revealed a month prior at the Goodwood Revival, this news has only heightened the excitement ahead of what is sure to be a spectacular event.
