In 1961, Bill Mitchell, protégé of Harley Earl, was tasked with designing the new Eldorado. Moving away from flamboyant fins and extravagant chrome, he crafted a more refined profile with resculptured fins, a split grille, and tailored fender skirts. The progressive new aesthetic was paired with the 390 cid V-8 engine and Hydra-Matic transmission, producing an impressive 325 hp.

This Eldorado was once part of a prestigious collection in Chicago. By the time a classic car expert in the Midwest acquired it from the collection, the Eldorado had been fastidiously restored; extreme attention was paid to the panel fit and chrome finish, and the paint was finished to show-quality. The current owner acquired the car in 2015 from the Midwestern owner, and has since driven it sparingly on family excursions, attesting to how the car “drives wonderfully.”

Finished in the highly attractive GM Topaz – as it was in 1961 – this Biarritz also has correct wheel covers and leather interior. The car is fully loaded with a power top, six-way power seat, power windows including electric vent windows, power steering and brakes, air-conditioning, Autronic Eye, and whitewall tires.
