Description

Named for the FIA racing class it was designed for, the GT3 moniker was introduced in 1999. As with Porsche’s 911 RS models, the Type 996 GT3 was racing-focused and devoid of items that added unnecessary weight or detracted from performance. For 2006, Stuttgart unveiled the updated 997 GT3, featuring a 3.6-liter, 415 hp engine and Porsche Active Suspension Management with zero-lift aerodynamics. Shortly thereafter, a more-focused RS version upped the ante by shedding more weight and increasing grip and stability via a wider rear track and revised bodywork.

The 997 GT3 RS 3.6 offered here is one of 452 examples built for North America during 2007–2008. It is finished in Carrara White over a full black leather interior, accented by a plethora of carbon fiber adornments. Remarkably, it is believed to be one of just three produced with an all-white exterior (including Porsche Exclusive painted front spoiler lip and rocker panels) and Porsche Exclusive full deviating exterior trim in black, including the wheels, mirrors, spoiler, and side stripes. Other options selected include bi-xenon headlights, PCM with navigation, sports chrono, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, yielding a window sticker of $159,865, making it one of the most expensive GT3 RS examples produced.

Supplied with manuals, keys, window sticker, COA, and a DME report showing zero overrevs, this outstanding GT3 RS has traveled just over 5,300 miles from new. Limited production and exclusive options in one of the most visceral Porsches ever make this a potent addition to your collection.
