Description

Few cars exemplify 1950s-era Americana like a Cadillac, particularly a magnificent Series 62 Convertible such as this. Cadillac’s dominance of the luxury car market was the product of the combination of styling leadership, superior performance, driving ease, and quality of build. This Series 62 offers all of that in remarkably original, unrestored form.

This car has traveled a mere 35,000 miles with three enthusiastic owners. George Moccia owned it for 50 years before finally relenting to numerous purchase requests from Bob Reverman of Bellevue, Washington. The current owner acquired the car in 2014. Paint, top, and upholstery are reported to be original and in excellent condition. Finished in elegant Princess Green paint (code no. 32) with a matching green and white leather interior and a light green convertible top, the original colors speak to the era from which it came. The new-for-1956 engine, Cadillac’s most powerful at the time with 285 bhp, starts quickly and idles smoothly. The many power amenities – windows, seats, and convertible top – are said to operate without issue. Included with the sale are the original owner’s manual, convertible top operating instructions, and jack, with the instruction decal still affixed to the trunk lid.

Of the 8,300 Series 62 convertibles built for the 1956 model year, just 38 are currently known to the Cadillac & LaSalle Club. This icon of American motoring is now ready for its next owner.
