Why the 2017 Tour Auto might be the best edition yet

In honour of the famed Tour Auto, celebrating its 26th anniversary this year, we’ve compiled some of our favourite photos from last year’s race, taken by photographer extraordinaire Rémi Dargegen. With a new race route, we can already envisage the sights he'll be able to capture next week...

The road less travelled

Beloved by the all in the classic car world, from enthusiasts to dealers to historians, this year’s Tour Auto will be kicking off on Monday, and to completely even-out the playing field for the 230 entrants, a brand-new route has been added to the journey. As is tradition, the start will be at the Grand Palais in Paris and end at the lovely seaside of Biarritz, but the journey between these will be a new a destination, one the event has never visited before — the historic and picturesque region of Brittany. With Gordini, Hotchkiss, and Matra all being celebrated at the event this year (among others), spectators will surely witness a spectacular sight as the convoy makes its way through the patchwork of fields and coastal roads of the Breton landscape. For those competing, enjoy the ride...
