This custom BMW K100 was inspired by a sea-fearing sailer

There are many sources of inspiration for custom motorcycle builders, with common muses, such as racing cars, often resulting in similar outcomes. The latest build from VTR Customs, however, takes styling cues from a far from ordinary object…

Road ahoy

As there are obvious parallels between the handmade, classically styled yachts of Swiss boat builder Boesch and the one off, artisanal two-wheeled creations of VTR Customs, the marriage of both into one package has resulted in a match made in heaven. Starting with a 1985 BMW K100, the bike now features authentic Boesch wooden decking on the gorgeously curved custom tank, tail, and fairing, as well as a vintage switchgear straight from the boats, resulting in an overall package that is somehow muscular yet elegant. Finished in classic dark blue and ivory, with hand-painted pinstripes and flowing Boesch logo, this custom BMW is sure to cause a stir dockside, regardless of what gorgeous yacht she resides next to, and it is currently for sale in the Classic Driver Market.
