Description

[SALE PENDING]

Following the vast success of the 365 Boxer of the early 70’s, Ferrari went a step further with the 512 BB. This new release still stuck to the Berlinetta Boxer traditions but sported a superior engine and mildly revised styling.

The 512BB, Ferrari’s second attempt at a mid-engined road car, quickly became the brand’s “wedge exotic” icon preceding the Testarossa dynasty. The carbureted, wet sump engine produced 335hp and was outfitted in a 900-unit 512BB production run lasting five years.

Delivered new in the Netherlands, this particular 512 BB soon made its way to the United States, where it was federalized and kept for the next 29 years by Steve Wilkinson (from Panteras by Wilkinson). Following Mr. Wilkinson's ownership, it went on to a collector from the UK, who gave it a full engine-out service by Claudio Zampolli at Cizeta Automobili (California) and, after shipping it to the United Kingdom, restored the body and returned the car to its original European specification. A superlative example of the Berlinetta Boxer, this matching-numbers, matching-colours example will not disappoint in its condition, operation and good looks.
