Snapshot, 1960s: Goddesses among themselves

In the early-1960s, Brigitte Bardot was one of the most famous – and thus most photographed – women in the world. And what better car for the French silver-screen diva than ‘La Déesse’, the goddess among automobiles?

It’s photos like this that characterise the mystery and seduction of the French femme fatale – Brigitte Bardot lolling on the passenger seat of a Citroën DS with her hair unkempt and a slowly burning cigarette between her fingers. There’s only one word for it: irresistible.
