Leica’s family tree achieves maximum price at Christie’s in London

During a recent Christie’s auction offering interesting collectables, a ‘family tree’ of 107 Leica cameras was sold for £360,000…

At approximately three metres high and two metres wide, the family tree represents the development of Leica’s iconic cameras from 1914 until 2014, including prototypes and examples of the most famous M- and R-series. Previously seen in Leica’s factory museum in Sölms, Christie’s achieved a hammer price of £300,000 for the piece, exclusive of buyer’s premium.
