Does Bamford’s Heritage Submariner render vintage watches redundant?

The latest Rolex to receive the ‘Heritage’ treatment by Bamford Watch Department is the Submariner. The result is not only a lot less fragile than the vintage examples it was inspired by, but also far more affordable…

Best of both worlds

Seamlessly fusing modern technology with vintage styling, Bamford Watch Department’s Heritage range is bound to prove one of its most popular. Inspired by the reference 6538 Non Date of the late 1950s, the Heritage Submariner oozes timeless style, with its unguarded grown and gilt detailing on the dial. It’s also very durable, with a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel and Bamford’s signature MGTC finish. For those who can’t stomach the £14,000 price tag, however, Tudor’s Heritage Black Bay Black is very similarly styled and significantly more affordable.
