The MHD CR1 could have been born in the Golden Era of Motorsport

Taking inspiration from popular motoring chronographs from the 1960s and ’70s, the MHD CR1 is the second completely in-house design to emerge from Matthew Humphries Design…

Clear intentions

Following the time-only MHD SQ1, Matthew Humphries’ eponymous company has revealed its first chronograph, the CR1, featuring a bold brushed-stainless-steel case designed in-house, and a ‘chrono quartz’ movement. Once again drawing on Humphries automotive design background and passion for historic motorsport, the watch is unashamedly aimed at car enthusiasts – take the rally-style strap (available in either tan, black or dark blue) and the tachometer-inspired black and white dials, for example. Just 500 MHD CR1s will be built, each of which will come with individually numbered papers hand-signed by Humphries himself.
