Bauhaus meets Porsche – the latest watches from Porsche Design

Presented at Baselworld just last week, Porsche Design’s 1919 collection celebrates the great icons of German design…

‘Made in Germany’ – it’s a label that, in the history of design, has signified simplicity, minimalism and reduction of form. These principles of the Bauhaus in the early 20th Century were later employed by Porsche, for its now-legendary 356. Now, a new collection of timepieces from Porsche Design has been dedicated to the car, as well as other icons of German design. Comprising the Datetimer, the Globetimer and the Chronotimer, the 1919 collection  – so named after the year the Bauhaus was established – encompasses design restraint of which both the Bauhaus’s founder Walter Gropius and Ferry Porsche would be proud.

You can find a small selection of Porsche Design watches listed for sale in the Classic Driver Market.
