Soaring seahorses – Special pair of Ferraris fetch £8.5m for charity

Two very special Ferraris have been sold for a combined £8.5m, all of which will be donated to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution at the cars’ late owner’s behest…

The two rare right-hand-drive Ferraris – a 1967 275 GTB/4 and a 1960 250 GT SWB – were gifted to the RNLI in the will of Northamptonshire-based businessman Richard Colton, and sold by the British auction house H&H for an impressive £1.93m and £6.6m (hammer) respectively. The proceeds of the sale will go towards funding a new lifeboat, which will, appropriately, be named after Colton and his wife.
