The memorabilia fantasy of the brilliant Sam Simon

While Sam Simon was writing television history by producing the first seasons of ‘The Simpsons’, he amassed an impressive collection of memorabilia. On 22 October 2015, Sotheby’s will auction his motley estate…

Samuel ‘Sam’ Simon – who sadly died earlier this year, aged just 59 – forged an impressive career. In the 1980s, he wrote the first screenplays for the classic sitcom ‘Cheers’, before developing the incredibly successful cartoon show ‘The Simpsons’, together with Matt Groening. His ideas were stylish and humorous, and his characters were thoughtful and clever (we especially like Mr Burns). Sotheby’s will now sell 278 exclusive collectables from Simon’s estate, including a large selection of memorabilia from both his television days, and from his subsequent career as a boxing trainer.
