The Model: It didn’t take long for Chevrolet to catch up in the sport-compact market after they introduced the new Camaro. While its design, power and performance were quite attractive to thousands of buyers, there were those who felt they could improve on a good thing. Often encouraged by Chevrolet, helping to feed that need for speed were dozens of aftermarket suppliers and soon legendary musclebound Camaros were tearing up the strip, causing scenes on the street and taking home awards from car shows. Today, even as the Camaro is approaching its 50th Anniversary, the ability to transform a simple street version into a pavement shaking machine seems unlimited. The first generation Camaro is simply one of the best designed, proportioned and engineered vehicles ever produced, that’s why builders love them.

The Car: This beautiful coupe started life as a rather economical entry into the marketplace. With its West Coast heritage, this coupe presented a solid body for the build of this amazing car. Work started in 2008 and was completed three years later, the results a masterpiece in mechanics. Finished in Viper Blue, it has seen just 2,700 miles since the build was completed. Today a small-block “350” sits under the hood fitted with the Camel Hump heads, Edelbrock Air Gap manifold and four-barrel carburetor, custom headers, electronic ignition and much more. A Muncie 4speed transmission, including shifter, combine to get this Camaro off the line. Fitted with power steering and disc brakes, it also has the Rally Sport style hideaway headlights were work flawlessly, a fete unto itself. Bodywork and paint in very presentable condition, but what makes this Camaro special is that it is driver and road friendly.
