- A complete vehicle ready for refurbishment or restoration

Estimated value: 380 000-480 000 PLN

Model History
Cars from the W187 model series, to which we can account the car shown below, were called „small Adenauers”, because of the resemblance to the bigger flagship model. The production of the very presantable 220A model convertible started in 1951, and lasted for four years. The letter „A” in its name means it is the lighter and smaller two-door and two-seater convertible range and thus it differs from series B, which offered four seats and four doors. Under the bonnet one would find an inline-six engine of 2195cm3, of 80 horsepower. All in all only 1278 cars left the factory. It’s immediate replacement was the 220s convertible, manufactured from 1956.

Vehicle History
220A convertible from 1955 offered on auction by Ardor is a vehicle likely to have been restored about ten to twelve years ago. The body, despite apparent flaws, is complete and is a good base for renovation. In terms of mechanics the car runs and drives, but needs a full engine overhaul. The interior is complete with good looking patina. During the last few months the 220A cabrio had an oil service and got a new battery. This is a good basis for an experienced collector, who will appreciate the overall complete condition of this vechicle.
