Kaare Klint’s Faaborg chair celebrates its 100th birthday

One hundred years ago, Danish designer Kaare Klint presented a chair to the world that is now considered one of the great icons of furniture design. A new special-edition version has been built to celebrate the momentous anniversary…

A masterpiece, at just 26 years old

Kaare Klint was only 26 years old when, together with his architect colleague Carl Petersen, he designed a chair for the Faaborg Museum on the Danish island of Funen, in 1914. To date, 18 historical copies of the chair can be found in the museum’s exhibition rooms. To celebrate the jubilee, a limited-run 10-piece special edition of the Faaborg chair has been announced, designed by Rud. Rasmussen in tribute to the original. There will also be an ‘Anniversary Edition’, presented in walnut, the first 100 of which will be numbered and of particular interest to collectors.
