Vertu has (literally) created the Bentley of smartphones

British luxury mobile phone manufacturer Vertu has revealed the first in a quintet of handsets to be created as part of its five-year partnership with Bentley…

Named ‘Vertu for Bentley’, the new smartphone brings together the latest materials and technologies in a package finished with numerous references to traditional Bentley handmade craftsmanship. Quilted calf leather (in the classic Crewe shade of Newmarket Tan) swathes the titanium chassis – which features diamond knurling on the side rails, complemented by an engine-turned pattern on the back plate. Inside, the phone runs Android software and is loaded with Bentley-specific content, such as a custom start-up animation and exclusive wallpapers.

Priced at €12,000 (£10,700; $17,100), the phone is available in selected Vertu boutiques worldwide. Alternatively, you could hire a messenger and buy him his own Bentley for a similar outlay?
