Externally, the Jensen FF resembled the more common Vignale styled Interceptor, but it had a four inch longer wheelbase, in addtion to the bonnet, a bonnet scoop, brushed metal roof and dual side vents. Beneath the skin, however, it was a different matter. Remarkably for a small company, Jensen scored two important automotive firsts: the FF was the first production car to employ the Ferguson four-wheel-drive system and the first to have anti-lock brakes. Audi bought an FF, drove it to destruction and finished up convinced of the merit of 4WD. Working in conjunction with Ferguson, Audi eventually built the Quattro, revolutionised rallying and attracted many imitators.
