474 GJB' was first registered on 6th November 1962 and has the desirable ‘Special Series’ (Vantage) engine fitted with triple SU carburettors. (Vantage engines were fitted to otherwise standard DB4 saloons as well as the actual Vantage model, which is distinguishable by its DB4GT-style front end). A metal plaque inside the vehicle states that it was supplied by Altwood Garage, Maidenhead, but no other details of its history are known prior to its purchase in June 1977 by the current vendor from Richard Stewart Williams Ltd, who are understood to have rebuilt the engine before selling the car. The recorded mileage at that time stood at 65,275, though it is not known for certain that the speedometer is the original.
