June 1962 saw the introduction of Alfa Romeo‘s new Giulia, or 105 series, to replace the highly successful Giulietta. The car came in both "TI" and "Super" versions. An all aluminium twin-cam 1570cc engine was used in both models with power ranging from 92bhp to 102bhp depending on specification in road form. All Giulia models came with coil spring suspension and later models boasted a five-speed gearbox. The Super version also had twin, twin-choke Weber carburettors.
Alfa Romeo did not build any Giulia Super estates but it was possible to order one through an Alfa Romeo dealership. They were fully built as saloons (sedans) by Alfa Romeo in Milan and then converted to estates by Italian coachbuilders. The best known of these were Colli and Introzzi, both of whom had exclusive arrangements to develop and produce Alfa Romeo
