Djibril Aruun Cissé was born in Arles, France in 1981. He is a French football player of Ivorian descent who plays as a striker for Panathinaikos in Greece. He is noted particularly for his speed and acceleration.
After playing for a number of French national sides, he moved to Liverpool in 2004 scoring 90 goals in 166 appearances. During his time at Anfield he played in 83 games, scoring 26 goals and towards the end of his Liverpool career he had a loan spell at Marseille scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances. He then made the deal permanent. Cissé made a return to the English Premier League in 2008 with a loan spell at Sunderland scoring 11 goals in 38 appearances. On June 25, 2009, he agreed to a 4-year contract with Greek side Panathinaikos F.C., with a transfer fee of about £9 million.
It is no surprise then, with
