Registration Number: RNN 951 Chassis Number: B12YD
Announced in 1946, the Bentley Mark VI featured a channel section chassis, independent front suspension and a leaf-sprung rear axle. Drum brakes were fitted all-round with mechanical servo assistance, the front ones operated hydraulically. Power was provided by the B60 4,257cc six cylinder engine - with overhead inlet/side exhaust valves and belt driven dynamo and water pump.
The only major mechanical change came in 1951 when engine capacity was increased to 4,566cc together with a change from a by-pass oil filter to a full-flow layout. The same year the Mark VI was joined by the R Type, basically the same vehicle but with a longer more commodious boot.
RNN 951 was delivered new to J. Boneham esq. of Mansfield by his local agents Portland Motor Company on 9th September 1954, finished in Masons Black with beige l
