The Porsche 993 is the company's internal name for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between late 1993 and early 1998, replacing the 964. Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches.
Porsche 993 cup cars were built to a high specification and were destined for the super cup one make series sponsored by Porsche. An entry level race car they boasted a whole host of race developed extras. Powered by a version of the 3.8 litre Varioram engine with twin plugs and higher compression, sports exhaust, competition clutch and a six speed gearbox, the car was considerably lighter than the standard Carrera and with 310 Bhp was good for 172 Mph and 0-60 in 4.8 secs. As with all race cars they were equipped with a full roll cage, safety harness, fire extinguishers and one Recaro race seat.
