Description

MG TCs and TDs were the backbone of the burgeoning sports car movement in the U.S. immediately after World War II. Their clamshell fenders and cut down doors had a certain old English charm that ultimately began to look old fashioned as full envelope bodies appeared on their competition. To offset this impediment to sales, the MG A appeared in 1955. Not only was the styling a complete departure from the past, but its lower hood line was achieved by the use of a new engine, the BMC B unit. The A became a big U.S. seller and less than 6% were retained for sale in the home market.

The offered model is from the 1958 production and has a 1500cc engine. This car has several interesting modifications. The one of primary interest is the fitting of a vintage Judson supercharger kit that appears to be complete right down to pieces like the valve cover, oiler and modified fuel line to the supercharger-mounted carburetor.

It is finished in classic MG A colors of ivory wit
