Tudor Heritage Black Bay: A diver’s watch with tradition

The latest Tudor Heritage Black Bay diver’s wristwatch dates back to a model first introduced in 1954.

But the latest professional watch from Rolex sub-brand Tudor mixes design cues from the 1950s with a younger, more modern twist.

Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf always had a great affinity for the British Isles. So, having worked hard to create the now world-famous Rolex brand, he chose the quintessentially English name ‘Tudor’ for another range of watches, introduced after the War.

The new Heritage Black Bay model is available in stainless steel, with either an all-steel and additional fabric strap, or a fabric strap and one in “exclusive aged leather”. The style is similar enough to the legendary ‘Sub’ from the parent company, yet carries a high-quality ETA, not Rolex movement.

The 41mm-diameter, self-winding watch is waterproof to 200m.
