We have a very fine 1977 Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Convertible. The car has been resident here in the Netherlands since 1994 and still has its original colour finish. The car has a Polar white exterior with a black hood and interior. The car has a 1600cc 4-cylinder boxer engine fitted with fuel injection. Throughout its life, the car has purely been used for pleasure. This sparing use has resulted in its very low current mileage of 32,611 km since it left the factory.

The bodywork looks splendid. The original nice and thin panelwork is correctly aligned. The good quality paintwork was resprayed, keeping the original colour. The hood was replaced by a high-quality Sonneland hood some years ago which remains in good condition as well as being particularly well-fitting. The car stands upon fetching Minilites shod incorrectly sized, good quality Yokohama tyres.

This fine Beetle’s interior has remained fully original. The interior layout is nice and functional and well thought out. The black vinyl is in wonderful original condition and the carpets are as clean as a whistle. The instrument and controls are still in very fine shape and in correct working order.

Mechanically the car has been maintained perfectly. This Beetle stills drives delightfully thanks to a combination of its low mileage and good maintenance. Although fitted with a modern fuel injection the engine has lost none of its character. This is one of the so-called Superbugs fitted with McPherson suspension struts in the front, a larger boot space as well as rack and pinion steering. The engine runs

smoothly thanks to its Bosch L-jetronic fuel injection. The transmission works with precision. The suspension is well sprung and the Yokohama tyres offer a good amount of grip. All the former makes for a great ride in this most delightful Volkswagen Beetle Convertible.

The car is nicely documented. There is general information present as well as invoices and test reports supporting the car’s low mileage. In short, this is a splendid Volkswagen Beetle Convertible that not only looks great but most certainly is ready to take on many more miles of unforgettable open top driving pleasure.
