Description

"From the birth of the original TR1 of 1952 through to the TR250 of 1968, Triumph Motor Company’s line of TR sports cars were both ground-breaking and commercially successful. Michelotti, the designer of the TR250, was unable to commit to the new project and, in their place, Karmann of West Germany were awarded the contract. Utilising many of the same lines, even body elements such as doors, Karmann focused on improving the aerodynamics of the new TR6, most notably with the inclusion of a Kamm tail to minimise wind resistance. To the sports car enthusiast of the early 1970s, the TR6 offered speed, a throaty engine note, a smooth four-speed gearbox and exceptional road handling housed in a masculine, convertible body.

This fantastic example of this popular British classic is presented in red with a black hood. The car was the subject of an extensive restoration in 2010, carried out by Harrison Automotive in Guernsey and has invoices in the history file for £60,000! This particular TR6 wants for nothing and with its extensive history file, natural good looks and its evocative exhaust note from the six-cylinder 2500cc engine, this surely must be one of the best examples on the market today. This car is being sold with a NOVA and the purchaser will be responsible for registering the car with the DVLA.
