After the TR5, Triumph decides to go for a new design and joins forces with Karmann, who is responsible for the design of the successor. Although the looks change considerably, it is less shocking under the skin with the TR6: the chassis, engines, suspension and doors are taken over from its predecessor. That does not have to be seen as a problem at all, the wonderful six-cylinder with manual four-speed gearbox guarantees enjoyment 'up to and including'.

The creamy white TR6 you see here is exactly 50 years old. Its 1973 year means that it is a car with one of the few updates that the model received during its eight-year career (1968-1976): a black spoiler under the front bumper. Further differences are mainly in the technique where both carburettors were mounted and fuel injection. You see the latter a lot, especially in America, this white Triumph is equipped with carburetors.

This TR has been given a new coat of paint in the past and looks very good. The body is equipped with original and sleek sheet metal with neat panel fittings. What stands out very positively is the very well-kept engine compartment, with both the particularly fresh-looking six-cylinder and the unspoiled engine compartment striking. Under the hood we see tight seams, beautiful original parts, some subtle rust prevention and undamaged paintwork. We see the same when lifting the floor mat in the trunk. There, too, a clear absence of repaired damage or rust.
The TR6 stands on original steel wheels with tires in the correct sizes. It gives the TR6 that well-known 'thick' appearance.

The interior has already been addressed where necessary. The seats are in a very neat condition, just like the black upholstery, which is in top condition. The wood on the dashboard seems to be original with some signs of age. The Smith instruments are very neat and all function as expected. If the weather is typically Dutch and English, then there is good news: the convertible top is neat and will keep most rainwater out.

The Triumph is a real driver's car, which perfectly combines sportiness and fun. The car is powered by a 2.5 liter six-cylinder engine that produces 150 horsepower and sounds great. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Things such as the chassis and the brakes are also well maintained and give the car a pleasant and sporty ride. This makes it both a car for sporty touring trips and for visiting distant holiday destinations.

In short, a very nice Triumph TR6 in the popular creamy white color with a good state of maintenance. Really a car for the driver, enjoy!
