The Silver Cloud II, as it is known to enthusiasts, was in production for four years. Scarcest were the long-wheelbase models—measuring 127 inches between the axles—which were fitted with an extended version of the factory “steel saloon” bodywork. These featured additional legroom to the rear compartment, a large walnut bulkhead behind the front seat, and often a division window; the combination of all these features essentially created a limousine, which was nicknamed the “Baby Phantom.”

Of the 2,717 Silver Cloud II chassis produced, only 299 were the long-wheelbase version, marking them as one of the rarest Rolls-Royces models of their era.

For all of you who are not familiar, Rolls-Royce no longer exists as it has for the past hundred years; it is now owned by BMW and models are being mass-produced. The days of cars being handcrafted by artisans in Crewe are now just a fond memory. This car was built at a time when Rolls-Royce was truly building the world’s finest motorcars with the care and craftsmanship evident in every detail.

The magnificent Rolls-Royce Silver cloud II featured here is finished and highly desired midnight blue over matching Connley leather interior surrounded by magnificent Burl Walnut woodwork throughout this exquisite motorcar was delivered new on July 16, 1962, to Ralph J Schwarz, president of the Sapphire Corporation of New York City after many years of gentle working it was sold to Fred Salter of Corona Delmar, California. Eventually this extremely rare and sought-after model was subject to a no expense spared restoration and has been driven a mere 3200 miles since completion. Recently released from a private prominent collection this great motorcar is ready for its next caretaker. A complete service including new coker whitewall tires was performed by our service department and this motorcar is ready to drive and enjoy, I personally believe the potential of this extremely rare and sought-after long wheelbase Rolls-Royce will grow beyond your imagination. Offered to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the rarity and collectability of this great sculptured work of art.
