The 329 was originally built with a 3-cylinder Porsche diesel engine with 35 hp. This was the first Porsche tractor with a double clutch. It’s the L-type. As the 3-cylinder engine was more likely to falter, they replaced it in the past by an equally powerful 2-cylinder (30 hp) engine from a Porsche Diesel Star 219.
The Porsche tractor was fully disassembled during the restoration. The air-cooled 2-cylinder engine was completely overhauled, pistons and cylinders, rod bearings and connecting rod, the crankshaft, valves, gaskets and oil seals, etc. The wiring harness was also renewed (see attached photos).
You could say the engine is new. It runs like a charm and doesn’t leak any oil.
The sheet metal, body and the complete chassis were thoroughly taken care of. The Porsche was then completely sprayed in the original Porsche colours.
In short: a very solid and beautiful Porsche Diesel 329 Export tractor; a reliable 'workhorse' for many more decades to come.
