Paul Stephens Autoart Classic Touring Series 1.5

The 911 models from 1968-1973 are probably the prettiest cars Porsche have ever produced and iconic status was sealed when Steve McQueen used his road car for the opening scene of the film Le Mans in 1971.

The PS Autoart Classic Touring Series was created for the discerning owner who appreciates the authentic timeless style of the 911 from this period, but seeks increased refinement and attention to detail, in a car that is suitable for daily use.

Since the launch of Paul Stephens Autoart in 2005, each year we work with a handful of clients to create their dream car and it is very unusual for used examples to come up for sale.

This example was a new build, created in 2011 with the remit of long distance European Touring in mind.

It is powered by a 240BHP flat six air cooled engine that provides strong flexible performance to ensure this Classic Touring will surprise more than a few drivers of more modern machinery, whilst the G50 gearbox is fitted with revised ratios for long distance touring and improved economy.

The rebuilt and technically improved mechanicals provide a reliable and enhanced driving experience for the requirement of today’s motoring. With 12,000 mile service intervals and the ability to run on unleaded fuel, the Classic Touring is equally comfortable for the weekday working commute, or simply as a weekend blast.

Finished in poppy red leather, the interior will be instantly familiar to the classic 911 driver, with the classic 5 dial dashboard and door furniture styled from the late 60s era. A number of bespoke options were fitted including electric seats that are in fact slightly wider than original to accommodate the owner who was 6ft 5” tall and of a sturdy stature, air conditioning and a discreet modern audio system.

Beautiful styling and a bespoke interior never let you forget you are driving something very special, whilst the brisk performance and sure footed handling, ensure you can still out-perform most modern cars with ease.

It has now covered just 6,000 miles since completion and is ready for the next custodian to enjoy.
