Porsche Scottsdale P&A, Scottsdale, Arizona had the honour to supply this Porsche 944 to its first owner a Mr. Jim Williams on the 28th February 1984. He remained the rightful owner until 2018. You could say after 34 years this represented proper long term ownership. In 2018 ownership transferred to his son, keeping the car in the family. Until it was exported to Europe it had never left the state of Arizona. The original Arizona registration documents confirm the provenance as well well as the car’s authentic 72,070 miles on the clock. Trawling through the extensive amount of paperwork shows the car always received all the care and attention it deserved. Besides the original bill of sale, the partially completed service book and many invoices, a clean Carfax is also included, reinforcing the good care lavished. Even an unopened envelope containing the spare keys is part of the inventory; marvellous! The car has its original Metallic Sapphire (LY5V/L5). The paintwork is in good used condition. The interior trim is factory original with the expected amount of normal wear and tear for a car of this age, it has developed a lovely patina meanwhile. German engineering excellence simply drips off the car. The engine runs very well. The 4-cylinder 2,279 cc develops 158 PS transferred through a manual 5-speed gearbox. The car’s mechanicals are in good shape and are all in good working order. The finest accessory must be its always popular sunroof. The Porsche 944 is one of the last affordable sports cars from the 80’s as well as being the last really affordable Porsche. We all know how the price of the 911 has skyrocketed. It is not beyond the realms of reality that the 994 will follow a similar path, especially an original one, accompanied by good documentation. Don’t miss this opportunity. Meanwhile a Porsche 944 is still a total joy to hit the road with.
