The 80’s were in hindsight quite wild years. Wall street hit record highs, it was decennium that the Berlin Wall fell and more than anything else it was the last decennium that colour coded wheels were de rigueur.1985 saw our Porsche 911 Targa supplied from new by the American Richmond, Californian based Porsche dealership. The original bill of sales and a Porsche birth certificate form part of the paperwork. The certificate confirms we have a matching numbers car. The bill of sales shows that the first owner really knew what he wanted. He ordered a Porsche 911 Targa in Grand Prix White (code P5V9) with special order red leather interior trim. He also specified a lengthened steering column, 16 inch forged Fuchs rims with Grand Prix White centres, cruise control and sports suspension. Is that not just fantastic? An 80’s Porsche 911 Targa always has just that bit more elan compared to the coupé and with this spec it totally becomes a proper eye-catcher! The 911Targa has always been the special and luxurious one of the 911 family. This specific car is no exception. The car has standard fitted air-con, anti roll-bars front and rear, heat resistant glass, heated wing mirrors, front screen aerial, sports steering wheel, larger brakes and headlight washers. The car was bought by the previous owner in 2016 in the States and brought over to Holland. On arrival it was given a new set of Michelins and a major service with full fluid replacement. It visited the Porsche dealership for further maintenance in 2018. There are various invoices and a complete car wallet with stamped service books from its time in the States. It should come as no surprise that this Porsche 911 Targa is in a

brilliant condition both inside and out. This Porsche has only clocked up a mere 56,968 miles from new. The lovely bodywork has nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. The paintwork has had a cosmetic re-spray and bar a few minor signs of normal use looks great. The red leather interior trim is in very good condition. The leather being very supple and the carpets too look wonderful. The 911’s engine certainly lays claim to the title roll. The 3.2 litre 6-cylinder boxer engine develops 231 PS and is hooked up to a manual 5-speed gearbox. Thanks to the large bore and low curb weight this Porsche 911 Targa is even by current standards a seriously fast car. All in all we can certainly state this car is in great mechanical shape and still has the looks. This is the type of Porsche 911 Targa you want to buy; Brilliant colour scheme, good provenance and a great looker to boot! Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975!
