Description

1973 PORSCHE 911 RS TOURING
--Light Yellow with Green graphics, Matching Numbers, Original factory colors and options (Light Yellow (62), Black interior and optioned with a sport driver’s seat, headrests, rare stainless steel muffler skirt and Pirelli tires) as confirmed by its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

This superb Carrera RS 2.7 was completed in May 1973. Originally specified for German delivery. The RS was brought into the US in the late 1980s or early 1990s. By 1991, noted Porsche enthusiast Phil Bagley of Klub Sport Racing is recorded as owning the car and the earliest bill on file dates from 1994, when ANDIAL of Santa Ana, California, performed a comprehensive service.

While in the US, the RS has been kept in the care of several prominent Porsche collectors, including Dan Rosenthal, Frank Enea, Kim Watkins, Edward Lovett and it’s most recent California collector and friend to Autosport Designs.

During this RS’s recent past a great deal of maintenance has been performed to ensure that it presents at its very best.

Within the last 5,000 miles, the transmission, clutch, hydraulic chain tensioners, SSI headers, brake system, tires, suspension, fuel-injection pump and cylinder heads have all been rebuilt or refurbished and the engine specifications inspected acknowledging the leak down and compression to be in proper tolerance. Finally, it has been verified to have both its engine and gearbox to be correct and original matching-number components. The interior has also been redone in full “Touring” trim by a noted Porsche specialist.

In 2013, $40,000 was spent by noted Porsche specialists European Collectibles to perform the following. The RS was disassembled, the inner fenders and floors stripped to steel and refinished. The engine and transmission were removed for detailing, the fuel tank replaced and the entire RS was gone through with no stone left unturned to thoroughly detail to concours standards.

This original color combination 911 RS Touring is complete with Porsche books, tools and large ownership, maintenance and restoration binder. It is exceptional in every way and ready for immediately road use or concours showing.
