Description

French title Engine n° 6302101 Gearbox n° 7700793 - Impressive preserved condition - 4 owners, known history from new - Original engine and gearbox - 93 430 km from new, delivered new in France The original service manual tells us that this 911 S was delivered new by Sonauto on 29 October 1970, in Paris. Its first owner was M. Jean Gérard who lived in the 15th arrondissement. In 1984 he sold the car to M. Gantomme, who lived in South of France and who registered the car 5014 SH 30. Gantomme later moved to Maussanne les Alpilles, preserving the 911 carefully and re-registering it 5092 SB 13. A coachbuilder by trade, he repainted it during the 1990s. At some point in 2000, he stopped using the car, and so protected and stored it away. A few years later, in 2009, Henri Joffroy, the well-known rally driver and Porsche specialist acquired it. He had been the person who had inspected and serviced the car for Gantomme, his family friend, in 1984 ! Having been carefully stored away, the stunning 911 S was in incredibly original condition, with 85,294 km on the clock. Henri Joffroy proceeded to carry out a comprehensive mechanical restoration, spending more than 25,000 € on parts. The work included completely re-building the original engine, fitting a re-conditioned injection pump, overhauling the gearbox that had been in the car from new and fitting new original Porsche shock absorbers. During this work, the owner authorised just one alteration to the original specification: the fitting of four 6x15 wheels for tubeless tyres, acquired from Porsche. In 2011 Henri Joffroy sold the car to the current owner who was amazed by its condition. The only thing he has done has been to modify the gear change to make it more precise. Today the car is presented in an impressively original condition. Other than the mechanical work, the car has never been dismantled and the body is extremely sound. Even the 2.2 stickers are original and the car is complete with a folder containing the original owner's manual and service book, reflecting the great care taken by successive owners. There is also a manual for the radio, and a maintenance file. The car has recently been serviced by Joffroy Automobiles, and the odometer reads 93,430 km. This 2.2-litre S version is particularly sought-after, incorporating the purity of the first generation 911 with the more powerful 180 bhp 2.2-litre engine. These older versions have often led eventful lives, but this is not the case with this example, making it truly exceptional.
