Description
This 1968 Porsche 911L coupe began life as a Sportomatic model and was modified in the late 2000s with the installation of 911R-style bodywork as well as a 911SC-sourced 3.0L flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is finished in Slate Gray and is fitted with fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in red upholstery. Additional modifications consist of twin Weber carburetors, aftermarket exhaust components, Fuchs 15" wheels, a front strut brace, Bilstein rear shocks, Lexan side and rear windows, a roll bar, and a Nardi steering wheel.
The car was modified with 911R-style bodywork including a composite hood, decklid, doors, and flared front fenders. Exterior modifications consist of Hella headlights with plastic covers, 911R-style taillights, a Talbot Berlin left mirror, gold-finished door handles, Lexan side and rear windows, and T-handle hood and decklid hatches.
Silver 15" Fuchs wheels feature black recesses and are mounted with 15/60 front and 18/60 rear Michelin TB15 racing tires. The car is said to ride on various 911S-sourced suspension components, and Bilstein shocks are installed at the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. A strut brace has been installed in the front trunk compartment.
The cockpit was stripped and fitted with a mixed pair of fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl with cloth inserts under previous ownership. The driver's seat is equipped with an OMP harness, while the passenger seat is fitted with a latch-and-link belt. A TRE roll bar has been installed, and additional appointments include leather door pulls, a dash-mounted kill switch, and a helmet box stored behind the driver's seat.
A leather-wrapped three-spoke Nardi steering fronts green-letter VDO instrumentation consisting of a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 250-km/h speedometer, a clock, and combination gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,958 kilometers (approximately 1,217 miles).
The replacement 3.0-liter Type 930/06 flat-six was installed under previous ownership and features twin Weber triple-barrel carburetors. A Facet electronic fuel pump and fiberglass shroud have been installed, and additional equipment is said to include PMO intake manifolds and a Carrera-style front oil cooler.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transaxle. Tubular headers and an R-style sport muffler have been installed.
