Description

Continuously refined over its production life with upgrades that improved performance and driveability, the Porsche 930, by 1989 posted 0–60 mph in 4.9 seconds and reached a top speed of 156 mph. The 1989 model also was the last year for the 930 and, significantly, the only year in which the G50 5-speed manual gearbox was offered.

Presented here is one of only 439 Turbo cabriolets imported into the US for 1989. In immaculate condition, this unmodified example registers less than 22,000 miles from new. Resplendent in quintessential Guards Red over Cashmere Beige interior, and accented by black Fuchs wheels, this impeccably finished 930 is believed by the consignor to retain the majority of its original paint.

Well-equipped from new, this Porsche is fitted with the optional amplifier system, limited slip differential, and sports steering wheel with raised hub. The engine – an unnumbered case, possibly indicating period replacement under warranty – was the recent recipient of a major service by John Walker’s Workshop in Seattle. The tires were replaced, and a sympathetic cosmetic refurbishment was also performed; the condition should please the most discerning of collectors.

Whether enjoyed on a concours lawn or the open road, this dynamic piece of German engineering is sure to provide thrills.
