The Porsche Turbo was manufactured between 1974 and 1989 in 3.0-litres form until 1977 and then in 3.3-litres. The plant in Zuffenhausen wanted to develop on the base of the 911, a car that could compete with Ferrari. Compared to the more basic 3.0-litres, the 3.3 offered more complete equipment, a better soundproofing and a hydraulic clutch controller. The suspension had a new anti-roll bar, firmer damping and the rear torsion bars with a larger diameter.
The car on display is a model from 1988, a four-speeder that has covered only 2,864 km. The car came with a counter in miles, which totaled 211 miles (334 km) before it was replaced by at Porsche with a counter in km/h, which displays 2,526 km. The original meter and the invoices come with the car as well as its service book and manuals. The car is equipped with an optional three-spoke leather steering wheel, the original Blaukpunt radio, air conditioning and original Goodyear tyres. The late famous Parisian merchant Edgar Bensoussan had acquired the car for a client, who had kept it till 2013. It underwent a comprehensive service at Porsche in September 2013. The paint of the car is entirely original and so is the upholstery. This is an exceptional model in almost new condition.
